About the Workshop

The Managing Risk in Government Procurement Course is a one-day workshop that has been developed by Paladin Risk Management Services.

The aim of the workshop is to provide participants with the underpinning knowledge for the successful management of risk, specifically in Government Procurement. The format has been designed to provide practical application of the theory of risk management.

Learning Outcomes

The following are the key learning outcomes for the Managing Risk in Government Procurement course:

  • Outline the procurement risk management guidelines;
  • Outline the procurement environment;
  • Detail risk management definitions;
  • A comprehensive understanding of each element of the AS/NZS 4360:2004 process and its application to procurement risks;
  • Highlight issues surrounding contingency management; and
  • Discuss issue management.

Qualifications

The course meets all of the requirements for Unit PSPGOV417A – Identify and Treat Risks and students will receive a Statement of Attainment against this unit.

About the Presenter

Rod Farrar is the Principal of Paladin Risk Management Services and is an accomplished risk consultant with extensive experience in the delivery of professional consultancy services to Government and corporate projects.

He is a Certified Practicing Risk Manager and has worked closely with projects at all levels of Government and the private sector to manage the risks associated with the procurement activity.

He has worked on a wide array of projects ranging from acquisition of capital equipment (up to $5 billion) through to construction of facilities.

Rod has a wealth of experience in the management of procurement risk and has captured this experience in this course.
